Packages 404 not found in ppa

Asked by Bernd Porr

I've just created a first package for xenial here:
https://launchpad.net/~berndporr/+archive/ubuntu/usbdux
Done my:
add-apt-repository ppa:berndporr/usbdux
and then the
apt-get update
that gives the following error:
Err:10 http://ppa.launchpad.net/berndporr/usbdux/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages
  404 Not Found
and
W: The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/berndporr/usbdux/ubuntu xenial Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Data from such a repository can't be authenticated and is therefore potentially dangerous to use.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.
E: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/berndporr/usbdux/ubuntu/dists/xenial/main/binary-amd64/Packages 404 Not Found
E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
Any ideas how to fix it?

Out of curiosity I've uploaded "comedirecord" which uses the iir1 library from the usbdux respository. Here is the build log:
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
sbuild-build-depends-comedirecord-dummy : Depends: iir1-dev but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
apt-get failed.
Package installation failed

I've checked the directory
http://ppa.launchpad.net/berndporr/usbdux/ubuntu/dists/xenial/main/binary-amd64/
...and the files packages* are both empty. Looking at the previous distros they contain the packages.

iir1 (1.0-4xenial) trusty; urgency=low
that explains it!
