What happened to the RESTful API?

I read this question <https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad/+question/17492> and this one <https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad/+faq/39>, trying to determine if there was a way to access Launchpad externally. Both have answers from 2007 referencing a RESTful API that was supposedly in development. Was this abandoned? I would really like this to be implemented. I currently host my source code on GitHub and would like to be able to link it with Launchpad, as is already possible on GitHub with the Lighthouse bugtracking system.

The RESTful API Is still under development. There will be more information later this month.
