Delete/Deactivate Old Account?

I have an old account here that I haven't used in a very long time. I believe it was created before SSO was required. Since then, the Ubuntu One account associated with it has been deleted, so I can't log in to delete it myself. I would like to use that id again. The id is Sasafrass452. My current id is hummingbird1976 , since the other id is technically still in use. Can the old account be deleted, so that I can use the id again?
