Spammer edits old questions

Asked by Hachmann

Hi there,

I was wondering if there's anything that can be done to prevent spammers registering as answer contacts and editing other people's questions. We are using those questions as an archive where others can look up the info they need, but if the questions have been edited by a spammer, then there isn't much to read up left...

Would you please reset the question
https://answers.launchpad.net/inkscape/+question/327697
to its previous state and deactivate the spammer's account?

Could you also advise if there's anything that can be done to prevent this in the future?

Regards,
 Maren

Update: now they answer new questions with nonsense replies... Isn't there anything that can be done about this?

Being an answer contact now no longer grants permission to edit existing questions.

That's good to read, thank you very much! :D

Would it be possible to undo the spammers' changes? It's confusing people ...
See an example here:

What would be the best way to deal with spam answers (which seem to be the latest spammer hype... :/)?
(If there were a 'report' button, that could help us get those removed quickly)

If I registered as an answer contact, I'd be able to hide them (I think), but due to the hundreds of spam mails, I do not want to. Instead, I just visit the Inkscape answer section a couple of times a day, and subscribe to each question I answer manually. The registered 'answer contacts' we have are all spammers but one (Mc). They probably don't care about receiving any spam mails, but I do ;-) We have already lost another contributor (partly to spam, but that wasn't all of it).

Thanks again for your help!
