Yes. You didn't tell us about it :-)

When we switch over to the new code import system, this step shouldn't be as necessary.

I was confused by the information on help.launchpad.net and the text on the branch page. On help.lp.net it says you have to ask about monitoring, but the branch page gave me the impression that it would be automated (but that's could be me reading it badly). I assumed that the branch page would be more up-to-date than help.lp.net. I'll add a comment to the VcsImports page to make it clearer.
