Edit the source details on https://edge.launchpad.net/lostlaby/trunk to have the correct location, and we can enable the import.

Unfortunately it doesn't.

The importing code that we use (cscvs) is unable to import from the non-standard layout that is being used.

The code as it is in the svn could be used to create a laby release.
Do I have to import to launchpad to find somebody to create a package for ubuntu?

No you don't need the branch in LP in order to create a package.

You could perhaps try to use a PPA in order to get the package available for ubuntu. That was you don't have to worry about waiting on a MOTU, and you can easily try it out.
