Transfer ownership of Xaos project to xaos-maintainers team

Asked by J.B. Langston III

I am one of the upstream maintainers of the XaoS realtime fractal zoomer. I noticed that Jordan Mantha has registered a project for XaoS on Launchpad. I would like to have ownership of this project turned to the XaoS Maintainers (xaos-maintainers) team I have set up on Launchpad. I have requested this directly from Jordan but have not received a response for several days.

Currently this team includes myself and Zoltan Kovacs, the other upstream maintainer. We would like to start using Launchpad to cooperate more closely with the Ubuntu package maintainers and end users. If things work out well, we may even one day move our project hosting entirely over to Launchpad.

Naturally, I assume that you will want proof that I am who I say I am before turning project ownership over to me. For that, I can refer you to the SourceForge project summary page at http://sourceforge.net/projects/xaos/, where you can see that I am listed as one of the project admins (jblang), along with Zoltan Kovacs (kovzol).

For further verification, you can look at the Launchpad bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xaos/+bug/211710, where I worked with Sergio Zanchetta and Tormod Volden to patch a problem with UTF-8 support on XaoS, and to add the Italian language translation done by Sergio to the upstream CVS repository. You can see where I committed the UTF-8 patch upstream here: http://xaos.cvs.sourceforge.net/xaos/XaoS/src/filter/grlib.c?revision=1.4&view=markup. Also, you can see where I committed the Italian po file upstream here: http://xaos.cvs.sourceforge.net/xaos/XaoS/src/i18n/it.po?view=log.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this. Please let me know if you need any additional information from me. I am looking forward to working more closely with you and the rest of the XaoS Ubuntu user community via Launchpad in the future.
