Enabling armhf support for ppa:linuxpedia.pl/erlang

Asked by Pawel Kraszewski

Hello!

I'd like to enable armhf compiling to generate up-to-date Erlang/Elixir packages for ARM-enabled devices running Ubuntu images, especially Odroid platform. This especially goes to Trusty branch, which is stuck on a rather ancient version (16b3 or so) of Erlang, prohibiting the use of current versions of Elixir language and Phoenix framework.

Packages don't update frequently (about once a month or so) and take about 1hr (complete Erlang distribution) to compile on Odroid XU3 device. I have no slightest idea on efficiency comparison between your compilation setup and Odroid. Elixir and Rebar take just a few minutes (they are written in Erlang and take a little time to compile).

The compilation is mostly based on official Debian DSC files, with small patches donated by ErlangSolutions team.

Although we haven't announced this properly yet, you can set this up yourself now. Just go to "Change details" on the PPA in question and enable armhf there.

Your message seems to have reopened this ticket indicating that you're still having a problem. Marking it as Answered again on the assumption that that was a mistake ...
