Can I upload deb files to my ppa?

Asked by foobarmus

I create my deb files using a much simpler method than the package builder. Can I simply upload them, or is package builder the only way?

Yes, Launchpad is restricted to package sources only.

I presume you mean "No -- I can't upload deb files" ?

Our package is written in python, so it does not have "source files" as
such. But it does have a debian installer which I need to put into a hosted
repository... What a shame I can't put it in the team's ppa.

I'm a little frustrated with the system -- apologies...

Exactly, I meant "you can't upload binary debs" :)

Anyway, PPA only allows source packages, so consider hosting your .debs somewhere else, or creating a "proper" debian package...
