New template needs review

Asked by Charles Kerr

Hi,

Since there were a few tickets asking for po files to translate Transmission, I I uploaded the pot and partial po files for the 1.10 series of Transmission. A week has passed, is it possible to have it approved?

Also, since the 1.0x series is what's shipping with Heron, I'm sure those files need to get uploaded too. How do I go about setting up two separate branches for translation?

Thanks,

Charles

I was unable to establish your connection to the upstream project. Have you contacted the upstream authors as per https://help.launchpad.net/TranslationsImportPolicy
 ?

Jeroen,

I am the upstream author, so that's not an issue. I'm just not sure what the next step to take is because I'm still learning my way around Launchpad.

Yes, it can be a bit confusing. We're working to make it a bit more transparent. One of the things that we need to check whenever translations for a new project are uploaded is whether there is agreement with the authors. Since you are the author, that check is now done.

The template has been approved (and probably imported by now); the translations should follow automatically.

Jeroen:

Thanks for approving the template.

Since we're preparing for a release of 1.10, a large number of po updates have been checked in upstream in the last week since I uploaded the previous tarball. Since I don't want the Ubuntu translators to duplicate their effort, I've uploaded an up-to-date tarball. Unfortunately, all of those are now all queued for review as well.

What is the correct way to upload updates without hitting the import queue?

As far as I can see, all your uploads have been imported already.

Everything that's uploaded gets queued for review initially. Most files are approved automatically (mostly translations whose languages and templates are obvious from their file paths, and updates of known files). Then, once or twice a week, we manually review the ones that aren't.

The automatic approval is not instantaneous either (look at the size of the complete import queue to get an idea why!) so it will always take a bit of time before your uploads are processed.

Can you help with this problem?
