Problem with Pandaboard ES framebuffer PVR SGX setup

Asked by AlexVaduva

Hello guys,

My intention is to be able to enable hardware acceleration for Java FX application over framebuffer.
I used the https://launchpad.net/~tiomap-dev/+archive/ubuntu/release packages (pvr-omap4 - 1.9.0.7.1.5-2 and pvr-omap4-dkms - 1.9.0.7.1.1-1 )

Unfortunately I was not able to make a demo working. The demo I want to us involves the use of framebuffer devices directly, so a DRM solution (or similar ones) is excluded. I was able to build from pvr-omap4-dkms the pvrsrvkm.ko and omaplfb.ko kernel objects but the entire solution which implies the use of the two kernel modules and the GL libs does not work (when inserting the omaplfb.ko kernel object the kernel crashes).

I must mention that the solution which implies the use of the kernel available omafb device driver without hardware acceleration works fine. Please let me know if I can provide with further information, I am sure I will need to. Also please let me know if the path that I am trying to walk is ok or if there are similar simpler possibilities.

Thanks,
AlexV

We don't maintain the packages in that PPA; Launchpad just provides the hosting service. You'll need to contact the owner of that PPA if you have issues with it.

Thank you for your answer. It is indeed very helpful, unfortunately I had little or no success getting and answer from someone there.
