Problem with renamed translation templates

Asked by GunChleoc

We just had to rename some of our translation templates because of changes in the source code, but Launchpad still remembers the old names internally somewhere where I don't have access, leaving the whole system in a mess. Is there any way to fix this?

The project is https://translations.launchpad.net/widelands/trunk, and the affected templates are

scenario-tutorial01-basic-control.wmf
scenario-tutorial02-warfare.wmf
scenario-tutorial03-seafaring.wmf
scenario-tutorial04-economy.wmf
scenario-bar01.wmf
scenario-bar02.wmf

What is the specific symptom that indicates the old name is still used somewhere?

I am a translator of said project.

If you download all translation files in a *.tar.gz archive, the folder "scenario-tutorial03-seafaring.wmf" only contains the corresponding *.pot file. The *.po files reside in the folder mp_scenario_together_we_re_strong.wmf. This template should actually not exist any more. GunChleoc probably renamed this one to scenario-tutorial03-seafaring.

If you download an individual *.po file, its name is something like po_mp_scenario_together_we_re_strong.wmf_scenario_tutorial03_seafaring.wmf-de.po, thus indicating both the (wrong) folder name and the correct file name.

The other templates, but not all, show the same symptoms. The files reside in a different folder for each template.

Some more information:

When I go to the list of templates and edit scenario-tutorial03-seafaring.wmf https://translations.launchpad.net/widelands/trunk/+pots/scenario-tutorial03-seafaring.wmf/+edit

I get:

Path of the template in the source tree, including filename.:
po/scenario_tutorial03_seafaring.wmf/scenario_tutorial03_seafaring.wmf.pot

When I upload a new translation, I get the following in the Import Queue:

po/mp_scenario_together_we_re_strong.wmf/gd.po in widelands trunk series

Will be imported into Gaelic; Scottish (gd) translation of scenario-tutorial03-seafaring.wmf in widelands trunk

*bump* This is still an issue.

I guess I could deactivate the affected templates and create new ones, but then I'd have a list full of deactivated dead templates. I am not allowed to delete those, and I would have to ask for help again.

Since we moved our translations off Launchpad, this is no longer an issue for us.
