Import Status: Failed

Asked by Francisco Villarroel on 2014-09-01

Since yesterday I got fail import from github, and now Import Status: Failed. What I have to do? Or someone can help me with this.

I don't know why this import fail starts because I didn't touch anything from my launchpad.

Best regards.

https://github.com/captiva-project/captiva-icon-theme/commit/9e0450770d9f0f5c2b09628e97765d086823875d added two symlinks that contain binary PNG data instead of an actual file path:

# ls -l ./captiva-icon-theme/Captiva/96x96/apps/Blender.png
lrwxrwxrwx 1 wgrant wgrant 8 Sep 1 20:26 ./captiva-icon-theme/Captiva/96x96/apps/Blender.png -> ?PNG????
# ls -l ./captiva-icon-theme/Captiva/16x16/apps/Blender.png
lrwxrwxrwx 1 wgrant wgrant 8 Sep 1 20:26 ./captiva-icon-theme/Captiva/16x16/apps/Blender.png -> ?PNG????

bzr-git won't be able to import that repository unless the those two bad symlinks are removed from its history.

William, thank you so much. My import is suspended when I will remove those two icons, the import will be available again?

William Grant (wgrant) said : #3

You'll need to rewrite the repository's history to remove them, not just a simple "git rm". See https://help.github.com/articles/remove-sensitive-data for an example.
