How to replace openpgp and ssh keys

Asked by Zac McFarland

Hey all,
So, for a very complicated reason I had to reformat my drive and reinstall Ubuntu, but I couldn't back up my old OpenPGP and SSH keys. My problem is that Launchpad still has the old keys from the first installation on my account. How do I generate new OpenPGP and SSH keys and remove my old ones from Launchpad and the Ubuntu Keyservers? Also, for the SSH key, do I have to have openssh-server installed?
Thanks for any help

You can add new SSH and OpenPGP keys from the relevant sections on https://launchpad.net/~. Each page documents how to create and add them.

SSH keys are removed in the same place. It's not possible to remove an OpenPGP key from the keyservers, but you can hide it from your Launchpad page there as well.
