ubuntu latin translation team creation

I successfully managed to have the "Latin translations" team for Launchpad added in the summer of 2013. (see question #233701) (Launchpad latin team: https://launchpad.net/~lp-l10n-la)
The situation is still a mess because latin is the kind of language that will require both the launchpad and the ubuntu teams on equal footing with discussions to entries and the team for ubuntu translations has been dead for an eternity now.

As coordinator for the Launchpad team, it would certainly make life easier for me if i could run them both concurrently.

Contributors can't currently do any translations because there is no team overseeing them to review new additions. https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-la already exists, but it hasn't been put to use in almost a decade and is in dire need of a revamp under the coordination of someone who can give it the attention it needs. (It also isn't 'officially' looking over latin translations to ubuntu, so it isn't doing ANYTHING atm)

I sent a message to the current owner of the team (Decuria latinitatis) last summer with my intentions for reorganisation but i've yet to hear back. (I think it's worth mentioning that since their last activity was years ago, i don't know if they'll be able to get back at all :S There are only a few of us on the team and they don't seem to have been around for years themselves. It all looks pretty lifeless.)

Solution to this question:
I know having that particular link (ubuntu-l10n-la) is important, so would the best course of action be to make a new team and have the '~ubuntu-l10n-la' link swapped with it, or have someone remove the current team altogether so i can make a fresh one with its same name; and then have this new team given place as an official ubuntu team?
Failing that, if ownership were handed over to me, i could finally get the ball rolling, at last able to coordinate the two teams for latin translations.

In short:
I'm reasking this question from last summer because i've had a few people express interest in joining my upcoming project to translate ubuntu into latin and the situation is still impassable until this is solved.

The current coordinator is Matt Earwicker https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-matt

I'd like to claim the page's URL for setting up the official ubuntu latin translation team.

I think only Launchpad admins now can change the ownership of the team.
To sum it up, this team:

should be handed over to Antony.

However, this could also be solved by allowing the Launchpad team https://launchpad.net/~lp-l10n-la the ability to review and oversee translation additions to ubuntu, if this is easier?

Unfortunately, the Ubuntu Translations Coordinators can't do much: only Launchpad admin can change the owner of one team.

I can't even re-assign this question to another team. The best bet, would be to ping somebody from this team:

https://launchpad.net/~launchpad.

Anthony, can you change the assignee of this question to the team I just linked?

Launchpad staff can reassign the ownership of the team if Ubuntu Translations Coordinators confirm that it should happen.

Ooops - i may have celebrated too soon.

Members of the ubuntu team don't have permission to review or add latin translations to ubuntu.

Right, I fixed it by adding Latin to

https://translations.launchpad.net/+groups/ubuntu-translators

However, while Latin is a language in Launchpad, there is neither a Latin locale nor a Latin language pack as far as I can tell. It means that you are basically starting a new language. Please study the "After the team has been accepted" section at

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/StartingTeam

to learn which steps you need to take. Don't hesitate to ask if you encounter difficulties.
