Setting up oohanzi-meta as a project group.

Asked by Louis-Dominique Dubeau

Here's the deal. I'm working on an Open Office extension which depends on two other projects to be functional. I've created 3 projects in Launchpad for each piece:

1. oohanzi (this is the Open Office extension; it depends on oounihan)
2. oounihan (which depends on java-unihan-lib)
3. java-unihan-lib

However, I think users will rarely know where to file bugs or ask questions and probably would benefit from dealing with a project group rather than the 3 individual subprojects. I've created a project called oohanzi-meta to be the project group that will contain these three projects. Questions:

1. Does it make sense to have a project group for that purpose?

2. What is the relationship between the project group and the projects under it? That is not totally clear to me.

Thanks.

Sure, that sounds exactly what groups are for.

It's just for structural organization. You get some simplified URLs for
filing bugs and you can define the same driver and contacts across all
projects easily.

Note that you can't convert a project to a project group, so if you've
already registered the -meta project, I'll need to deactivate it.

Ok, please do whatever is needed to convert oohanzi-meta to a project
group having oohanzi, oounihan and java-unihan-lib under it.

Thanks.

Done. Please fill out the information here: https://edge.launchpad.net/oohanzi-meta/ -- you now own it.
