visibility/dataspread problem - clean up source package pages

Asked by anatoly techtonik

For every package in Ubuntu there are at least three pages:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/saucy-backports/ansible
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ansible/+bugs
http://packages.ubuntu.com/source/saucy-backports/ansible
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/ansible/+bugs

I didn't notice that until now. There are probably others.
This really is a big usability fail and misfortune for Ubuntu,
because for non-monolithic kernel operating systems,
packaging is an entrypoint for new contributions and key
component around development.

That's why.

There should one and single entrypoint (name, domain)
for every package that enters Ubuntu packaging namespace
with clean links down to child pages and back. How is that
idea?

One of those Launchpad.net URLs redirects to the other, so there is no duplication on Launchpad.

packages.ubuntu.com is an unrelated service providing different functionality, and the two referenced URLs are for different resources: one for the source package, and one for the binary.

Can you help with this problem?
