bug Wishlist

Asked by Jörg Frings-Fürst

Hi,

a short question: Why can not everybuddy set the Importance of a bug to Wishlist?

I think it should be no problem if anyone can change to wishlist and undecided.

Different projects use particular importances in different ways. For example, Launchpad itself doesn't use Wishlist at all, because feature requests aren't necessarily lower importance than other bugs -- they deserve to be assigned Low or High based on the specific request. Letting everybody set a bug to Wishlist would take this scheduling out of the project maintainer's hands.

There is a saying in German:

"Überlege mal es ist Krieg und keiner geht hin"

Building on that, you then probably say:

"Think about times you have a good idea, but no one knows"

And sorry I think free software lives from both users and their feedback.
With my question I do not want to prescribe the maintainers work, but to identify wishes as such.

Perhaps it would be better to mark a Wishlist via checkbox rather than as part of Importance.

Can you help with this problem?
