Is there a way to get statistics for our download files and visitors ?

I've added a project of mine to launchpad and I'm willing to get statistics about visitors and especially downloads of my files.

We haven't yet implemented this functionality but it is one of the
features expected for the second half of 2008. It's actually non-trivial
to implement with our given design policy of "no write on read", which
is why it's not immediately available. If you make a request we can run
a grep through logs periodically and provide them to you, but it is
somewhat laborious on our end.

What's the status on this? I see it says "last half of 2008", but it's a bit later than that now. Is there any ETA on this feature?

this is quite important for me also, I am used to sourceforge stats, even if they are very few at least they have something...

Even Google code has a way to get statistics configuring the Google analytics key in the project administration.
I think this is a very important feature for projects. Canonical has the server logs but the projects don't have nothing to work on.

Any news about this? Will be good to see statistics of usage files in my ppa repository!
As example of usage statistics you can look on Drupal CMS: http://drupal.org/project/usage/views
Each module developer can look statistics how much users uses the module.
