Not able to change e-mail address for owned team

Asked by Tadeáš Pařík

Hello,

unfortunately I am not able to change e-mail contact address for my team (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-cz/). Current settings should be changed from "E-mail notifications for this team should go to Each member individually" to "E-mail notifications for this team should go to Another e-mail address".

I would like to use my address "<email address hidden>". However if I do this change, I receive this error message:

Sorry, something just went wrong in Launchpad.

We’ve recorded what happened, and we’ll fix it as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience.

(Error ID: OOPS-1eebe6126dedde9c21f947f8906f20f8)

Is there any possibility how I can change our contact details or is there someone (admin) who would be able to change it?

Thanks a lot.

Tadeáš

An email address uniquely identifies a person or team in Launchpad. It's not possible for a team to have the same email address as a user account.

Sorry, but this is not true. Originally we had a previous official LoCo contact there (<email address hidden>). Official LoCo contact was changed (to my person) and I tried to change it:

1) from previous personal e-mail address <email address hidden> to mine <email address hidden> -> not working
2) then I changed it from <email address hidden> to "E-mail notifications for this team should go to Each member individually" -> works

However I would prefer to use my address. If you check e.g. other LoCos (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-co), you can see that the personal e-mail address is used there.

Thanks for clarification.

Those email addresses aren't registered to the owners' personal accounts, but to the teams instead.

Ok, I understand. However this e-mail address (@ubuntu.com) is not my primary contact (only confirmed as being mine), it means that other e-mail address is joined with my user LP profile.

Shall I understand that an e-mail address to be used as a team contact, must not be in evidence of an user profile (confirmed as being mine in user profile settings)?

Thank you.

Yes, Launchpad uses all of a user's or team's email addresses to map from an email address in a package, VCS commit, translation file, etc. to a person or team. For this reason, they can only be associated with a single person or team, contact address or not.
