How can I set the branch policy of a project?

Asked by Marc Tardif

Is there a way to set the branch policy of a project so that the code can be private for example? I know there's a +branchpolicy link:

  http://launchpad.net/<project>/+branchpolicy

However, this returns the error message: Not allowed here. The same message is returned whether the project be maintained by myself or by a group for which I'm an administrator.

Marc,

The branch visibility can only be set by a Launchpad administrator.

Do you know why, Brad? Is it because of our all-public policy for free
software projects?

Marc,

As Kiko alludes, the mission of Launchpad is to support open source projects and to do so in a very transparent way. Therefore, features like private branches are not available for open-source software projects.

Launchpad is available for proprietary projects on a subscription basis and some of those projects may use private branches.

Please contact me or Elliot Murphy for details.
