Merging accounts, choosing which username

Asked by Paul Shields

Hello,

I would like to merge two accounts, an account I used years ago on the Ubuntu forums and an account I registered when I installed Ubuntu and registered for Ubuntu One. I have access to both email addresses (the old one was registered when UK users had to use an @googlemail.com address). I would like to keep the username for the old @googlemail address while keeping the account registered at the @gmail address.

If I run through the account merge at: https://launchpad.net/people/+requestmerge while logged in to my old @googlemail account , will that preserve the old username, when will I be able to change the assigned email afterwards?

Accounts are registered at <email address hidden> and <email address hidden>. Username I would like to keep, Pkshields.

Thanks

You'll keep the username that you're currently logged in as, though you can always change it later. You can change your email addresses once the merge completes, usually a few minutes after you request it.

Can you help with this problem?
