We'd like to set up a custom translation group for the Cataclysm-DDA project.

Asked by tommy

Recently we've been internationalizing the zombie-survival roguelike game Cataclysm-DDA (https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA).

We've had great success in getting translators to contribute and now have complete or almost-complete translations in several languages, as can be seen at https://translations.launchpad.net/cdda .

We currently have an "open" translation policy for most of our languages, but some of our localization teams (so far Korean and Chinese) would like to have tighter control over their translations. In particular, the head translator for Korean said they were having some trouble with trolls and would like to be able to review translations before accepting them.

As such changing the translation permission policy from "open" to "structured" seems to be what we want. However it seems that if we were to do this and join an existing translation group, it would cause the other languages to lose the benefits of the "open" policy.

I looked for other translation groups that might be appropriate to join, but "Launchpad Translators" seemed to be the only appropriate choice, and if i am reading the documentation correctly this would have the problem of forcing the "structured" policy on all of our language teams.

As such, we would in stead like to create a translation group for our project, something like "Cataclysm-DDA Translators", so that we can assign teams to individual languages as necessary.

If there is some other way to achieve what we want I'd be happy to hear of it. As it is, I've looked over the provided documentation and this seems to be the most appropriate solution for our particular case.

https://translations.launchpad.net/+groups/cdda-translators is all yours. You can link your project and language teams to it.
