Could Launchpad support my language (Irish / Gaeilge) please?

Asked by Colm Coughlan

I'd like to start translating some Launchpad programs into the Irish language (Gaeilge), however when I asked about it in translations they told me that Launchpad doesn't have any Irish support yet (that was a little surprising to me because I do some Irish translation for Ubuntu on Lanchpad). They suggested that I come here to ask about it. Would it be possible to add support for Gaeilge to Launchpad?

Just to clarify, this is the Irish language - Gaeilge, language code GA - and not Scots Gaelic.

We also have a team ready to be added to the translators list at https://launchpad.net/~lp-l10n-ga.

Thank you! Yes, it gets a bit confusing: Launchpad's translation system supports Irish, but the Launchpad Translation Group didn't have anyone to manage Irish translations yet.

I just added your team, with the responsibility for Irish translations. Thank you very much for doing this, and welcome to the translation group!

I'll assume that means something like "we're done here thanks," because if it doesn't, there's not much I can do with it. :-)
