bugs - "also affects distribution" option

Asked by macki

Hi, I was subscribing to a bug and wanted to add that it affects the linux distribution I use (Xubuntu 13.04). This distribution was not available (using the menu on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/activity-log-manager/+bug/1167531/+distrotask), the list seems a bit peculiar in that there are some of the less known distros while many major ones are not present. How can we get Xubuntu added to the list?

Xubuntu isn't a distribution of its own; it's a flavour of Ubuntu, using only packages from Ubuntu. A bug in Xubuntu is a bug in the Ubuntu distribution on Launchpad.

Thanks for the explanation. I appreciate that Xubuntu is considered a flavour of Ubuntu, but I still think it would be useful to list it. For the purpose of bug reporting, it can be useful to eliminate bugs specific to certain environments / window managers.

You could use a tag for that. As far as Ubuntu and Launchpad are concerned, the single Ubuntu task is how this should be tracked.

To clarify, the meaning of "affects" is more along the lines of "needs a fix in the code". So it doesn't make sense to have a separate Xubuntu task, as the Xubuntu code is the Ubuntu code.

Can you help with this problem?
