How can I tell why a vcs import failed?

The vcs import branch ~vcs-imports/xpattern/trunk has failed to sync. How do I figure out why this has failed?

Right now you can't.

Over the next few months we are going to be rolling out changes to the import infrastructure that should mean that import requesters will have a better view of the import process including access to see why the failures occurred. There will also be a place to have conversations about the imports without having to resort to asking questions here.

There is a slight technical problem with the imports right now. They'll be fixed ASAP, which in reality means within the next few days.

The import should be good now.
