Connecting downstream bug-trackers other than Ubuntu?

Asked by Joshua Judson Rosen

At <https://bugs.launchpad.net/foxtrotgps/>, I notice that it says "Ubuntu also tracks bugs for packages derived from this project: foxtrotgps in Ubuntu.", with a hyperlink to <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/foxtrotgps>; I also notice that there are other similar pages that exist for `foxtrotgps in other distributions' in Launchpad, e.g.:

    * https://bugs.launchpad.net/debian/+source/foxtrotgps
    * https://bugs.launchpad.net/fedora/+source/foxtrotgps

... but those appear to be `dummy' pages.

There's mention in Launchpad's documentation of it being able to sync with debbugs at least; is it possible to make "/debian/+source/foxtrotgps" automatically pull new bugs from debbugs? And make a "Debian also tracks bugs for packages derived from this project: foxtrotgps in Debian" show up on bugs.launchpad.net/foxtrotgps?

Is it possbile to at least add a "<distro> also tracks bugs for packages derived from this project: foxtrotgps in <distro>" to bugs.launchpad.net/foxtrotgps (next to the "Ubuntu also tracks bugs..." notice) for each of our downstreams?

I'm afraid that syncing automatically from debbugs (in terms of new bugs) is not supported, but they can be linked to existing bugs. Ubuntu is a special case because it is also hosted on Launchpad, but no other distribution gets the same treatment, I'm sorry to say.

OK. While it would have been nice to synch them, I'm actually not so
concerned about *sync'ing* from debbugs or other bug-trackers as I am
about just being able to put some sort of `click through' link
to other bug-trackers; so that, when we're getting ready for a release,
we have a list of downstream bug-trackers to go check for bugs that
might not have made it upstream yet.

This is what I meant in the latter part of my question:

As an example, see the "Bugs in chromium-bsu elsewhere" link at
the top Chromium B.S.U.'s SourceForge bug-tracker:

    http://sourceforge.net/p/chromium-bsu/bugs/
