How to create metapackage ?

Asked by Alexandre ACEBEDO

Dear all

I have a library with a given version number packaged in my PPA.
I would like to create two packages:
One named libkompex.1.9.11
One named libkompex that points to the first one and is a metapackage (aka virtual package).

The only thing I found is this page:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MetaPackages

Is it possible to integrate that in a recipe or shall I upload the package manually each time ?

Regards

A metapackage is a package that only installs things like changelogs and depends on other packages. It is certainly possible (and easier!) to put together a branch that does so, so you can make use of a recipe.

Can you help with this problem?
