Rename "Scots Gaelic" to "Gàidhlig" or "Scottish Gaelic"
Asked by

Scots Gaelic is a popular but wrong title for the Gaelic of Scotland. The reason for this is that "Scots" is another language altogether and is a Germanic language, unlike Gàidhlig, which is a Celtic one. "Scots Gaelic" is therefore confusing. The correct terms for the two languages are "Scots" and "Scottish Gaelic" or "Gàidhlig".
I hope this can be corrected.
Thanks
Alan
