Translation group creation request: Tatoeba

Hello,

I would like to request the creation of a translation group for the Tatoeba projet. First we had our translation permissions set to world-writable but we had some of our translations vandalised. After reverting the mess by hand we’re now looking for a way to restrict access to our translations. It looks like the best for us would be to use the 'Restricted' policy with a custom group. We currently configured the default group 'Launchpad Translators' but that’s not appropriate. As Tatoeba is itself a translation project, we already have a well-established team of translators. Most of them joined Launchpad for this only reason and we just want to allow them to translate this particular project. Thank you!

Hi,

this would not be really handled by the Translations Coordinators, we cannot register new Launchpad groups. Please, in the meantime, consider adding as much information as possible following what is written here:

Tatoeba is an collaborative online platform which goal is to build a multilingual aligned corpus.

* A paragraph description of the project.
Tatoeba's website can be accessed at http://tatoeba.org. The goal of the project is to build a multilingual aligned corpus, in other words to collect sentences translated into various languages. The corpus is distributed under the CC-BY license. These sentences are added and translated by a community. Registration is necessary in order to contribute to the corpus, but anyone can register. The main use of the corpus is language learning. Users can search a word, an expression, or even a full sentence; the results will display all the sentences matching the submitted search and their translations into other languages.

Unfortunately I cannot do much at this point.
I would suggest you to hop into the #launchpad IRC channel and try to ask there if somebody can take a look at this request.
