Need help troubleshooting a failing branch import.

Asked by Robert Bruce Park

This branch has recently come to my attention:

https://code.launchpad.net/~debian-bazaar/bzr-dbus/unstable

It attempts to import from:

http://bzr.debian.org/bzr/pkg-bazaar/bzr-dbus/unstable

which seems to be working normally -- I don't see any indication of any issues with this source branch. However, the imports have been failing consistently since november:

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/137049708/debian-bazaar-bzr-dbus-unstable.log

The only thing I've been able to notice is that the source branch is actually a redirect, which leads to:

http://anonscm.debian.org/bzr/pkg-bazaar/bzr-dbus/unstable

So is it possible that the launchpad importer is not following the redirect? Or is something else going on?

Thanks!

Ehhhh, so the log displayed at that source branch seems quite out of date -- from 2008. But if I branch that branch myself directly, I get commits as recently as january 2013. Don't know if that's related.

I think there is something else wrong with the LP import when trying to import from bzr branches Debian's Alioth. I've got another branch that imports from there that is having the same timeout problem. ~sinzui changed the import from bzr.debian.org to anonscm.debian.org for me, but it continues to fail. See:

Alioth had throttled anonscm HTTP access from Canonical's networks. That's fixed now, and the import works.

Can you help with this problem?
