Plenty of sugestions but no translation

I've just clicked thru a couple of programs with translations listed ad Not Translated. BUT there were plenty of good suggestions listed - so why the (and please pardon my French) hell haven't they been approved or rejected?
I really want to help, but it doesn't seem to have any point suggesting translations when apparently nothing happens.

Perhaps it is worth mentioning that it is the Danish translations I'm frustrated about.

Danish translations of what? Depending on the project's translation settings, suggestions typically need approval from a member of the translation group assigned to maintain its translations. That's something the project's owners can configure. It is up to the translation group members to decide what to do with suggested translations.

To get your translations approved, see what translators have been assigned for the project you're looking at, and contact them. It could be that the group has nobody to review Danish translations yet, or that they do but the reviewers are busy. In that case you could ask to join the group, and help them review and edit Danish translations.
