no expiry date for filing a bug

I went ot the server mailing list unsorted bugs list and found this:

Jaunty and Gutsy bugs marked as new? Seriously?

Eventually I'd go through the list and clean it up when I have time. I'll mark them incomplete - correct me if I'm wrong.
A question now:
Launchpad would be easier to maintain if we had EXPIRY DATE for issues, so when I'm in 2012 and filing a bug for 11.10 so I can mark it ARCHIVE AFTER 1 YEAR if no reply so devs can see more recent and more burning issues instead of drowning in bunch of expired ones.
