how do i link to a upstream bug report

Asked by maor

in bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/120834 i tryed to link it to an upstream bug report at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11847 but accidentally linked it to zubuntu distribution, is there an official way to link to upstream bug report? and if not id like to suggest launchpad should implement one

There are two related links on the left of a bug that you can use to link to:

1. "Also affects project" -- this will allow you to link to an upstream bug directly.

2. "Also affects distribution" -- this will allow you to link to another distribution bug report (for example, SUSE).

In your case, you should use "Also affects project", and enter the upstream bug there.

Unless you want me to, I will leave to you to reset the upstream to the correct BTS.

Thanks for helping, BTW.

You cannot delete the link at all. All you can do is what you did -- mark it as invalid. I am sorry I forgot to state that in my reply.

Again, thank you for your work there, and for helping us, the volunteers.
