Importance "Unknown" available as a filter

Asked by Brian Murray

In the advanced search ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs?advanced=1 ) Unknown is listed as valid check box for importance. However, I thought Unknown was replaced with Undecided. Additionally, for some reason 11 bugs show up as Unknown. Why?

Hello Brian,

bug watches come to mind here. I think that when a bug watch fails to sync the importance field (or when we don't have support for the given bug tracker importance), it's set to Unknown.

I looked at 2 out of the 13 and they did not have watches.

"Unknown" as an importance has always been intended purely for bug watches.

It looks like "Unknown" has been added to the drop down list when setting importances on bugs, which is probably why there are a few that have been set to that importance. This looks like a bug.

Is there already a bug reported about this or should I report one? I'm not finding one easily.

There is bug 179816, which is linked to this question and was fixed in the last rollout (Feb 25th). In that bug report there are also links to 3 other bug reports that also covers instances where Unknown might be set for projects
