Ubuntu crash manager reports page missing in Launchpad

Asked by Steve White

I'm experiencing a crash often when I wake the computer up, but the Ubuntu crash handler reports a non-existent page in Launchpad.

"Sorry, Ubuntu 12.04 has experienced an internal error."
Title
"run-parts crashed with SIGSEV in __libc_start_main()"
DuplicateOf
 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/963073

I wondered what was happening with this bug, and tried to look at that link.

But Launchpad says "Lost Something?". Attempts at searching for the title in Launchpad didn't turn anything up.

Hi the page it's then linking to is a private bug which you don't have access to see, we are currently working on these issues and hope to resolve bugs like this in the coming weeks

Hi Laura,

From a general user's perspective, this is rather poor.
My system is sending messages to Ubuntu, but I can't see what Ubuntu got from it.

As you see, from *this* user's perspective, it looked like a bug.

Here's how it could be improved:
The link should at least report what is going on. For example, that this was a report sent privately to Ubuntu, and that you're working on it. It might also go on to explain *why* the report info is private.

However, I was looking for a clue as to what ".dbg" libraries I should install, to provide better stack traces for the bug report.

** How can I get the information, of which ".dbg" libraries to install?

Thanks!

I can appreciate the confusion, this is the current bug open about it https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/764414

Can you help with this problem?
