Launchpad account merging

Asked by László Vitos

When I added my GPG key to Launchpad, the system detected that one of the email addresses associated with that GPG key is already known to the system. I tried to merge the two but some system error is preventing it, possibly because the old account was auto-imported (laca-evol). I'd like the two accounts merged, or the old one removed (it has no history on Launchpad). Thanks.

Yes, I tried to follow those steps, dozens of times. It's always giving a system oops error.

"the work around in bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/1019975 that wgrant mentions" is this one:

Admins can work around this by manually setting the account to Active on +reviewaccount, and doing the merge through https://launchpad.net/people/+adminpeoplemerge after verifying ownership.

Sounds fine to me. :)

I've 'created' the account laca-evol and was able to merge the two accounts afterwards. The problem was almost surely the one same as in bug #1019975.
