ia32-libs-multiarch unavailable on amd64 build servers?

Asked by Jason Harvey

I recently tried to build a package where the amd64 required ia32-libs for building. It appears that the build failed as ia32-libs-multiarch is not installable. I can build this package on my local precise amd64 box without issue. Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

The build log can be found here:

https://launchpadlibrarian.net/109412246/buildlog_ubuntu-precise-amd64.sun-java6_6.26-2precise2_FAILEDTOBUILD.txt.gz

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jason

ia32-libs-multiarch is only available on the i386 architecture. See:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/ia32-libs-multiarch

On your amd64 machine, you're probably using multiarch to install the i386 version of this package.

At the moment, there is no way to add a foreign architectures to PPAs as far as I know.

Can you help with this problem?
