how much time it takes to delete a repository

Asked by Jonathan De Wachter

It's been 3 days that I deleted a test repository and I'd like to create the official one (with the same name).

When we delete a repository, a notice appears to warm us that "Package deletion can take some time before the packages are actually removed."

So far, I still can't create any repository with the same name. I recieve a mail saying: "File <FILENAME>.orig.tar.gz already exists in <PPA Name>, but uploaded version has different contents." but in my launchpad pannel I don't see my old repository anymore.

Therefore my questions are: How much times it takes to delete a repository internally and will I be able to create a repository with the same name ?"

Thanx for helping me!

You cannot re-use a deleted repository like that - the internal data is remembered for ever. You have to create a new PPA if you want to upload the same sources again.

This is considered a bug, and tracked in https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/604877

Can you help with this problem?
