Snap ownership

I wanted to make a new project called Snap but it is just used in Launchpad https://launchpad.net/snap. This project is not updated since the 2008-02-17 and the owner did not answer to my emails...can I get the ownership of this project?

I recommend using a name that is easier to find using a search engine. Even among software, "snap" has already been used by http://freecode.com/projects/snapplatform and http://pypi.python.org/pypi/snap/0.5 so it is better to choose a unique name.
