New project group: "Ubuntu menu bar elements"

Asked by Matthew Paul Thomas

The developers working on Ubuntu's menu bar currently do not have a single place to find bug reports about the various indicators and other upstream projects that make up the menu bar.

To fix this, we would like a project group that covers those projects and no others.

The project group should be called "Ubuntu menu bar elements" (ubuntu-menu-bar).

Initially, it should contain these seven projects: indicator-applet, indicator-appmenu, indicator-datetime, indicator-messages, indicator-power, indicator-session, indicator-sound. (Most of these are currently part of "The Ayatana Project", but that project group is not actively used, as you can see by its lack of maintainer or driver.)

The maintainer should be Indicator Applet Developers (~indicator-applet-developers).

Thanks!

I /think/ this is something the LOSAs (er, Webops) do. I've assigned it to them. If not I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Any Registry admin can do this.

I've created the project group at <https://launchpad.net/ubuntu-menu-bar>. The project maintainers will need to add their projects to the group.
