osfs team adding people in a suspicious manner

Asked by Brian Murray

This team, https://launchpad.net/~osfs, is adding people without speaking to them and in alphabetical order which is rather suspicious.

In these 3 days, the group has grown from 132 to 290 members, and they all seem to be members of the Ubuntu BugSquad...

Gary, this is my first report about this, can it help?

Thanks,

Hello all. I still have not received word from the creator. We have taken ownership of the team, so he can't add to it further or administer it. This should hopefully get his attention.

Yes, I am adding members mostly from the Ubuntu bug squad, because it's the easiest way to promote the team to more advanced users. Any user is free to cancel there subscription at any point. But I must say I'm really sorry, I had no idea that this was against the rules. I will deactivate the membership of all members I added and think of other ways to promote it.

Apologies once more,

Reuben Potts

P.S. Can I become an administrator again so I can deactivate the members.
