I need the sources gone especially as I would like to upload a new orig.tar.gz with the same version.

Archive removals ('process-death-row') is only executed once a day (3:00 UTC). The files will be gone by that time tomorrow, then you can reuse the version.

Joseph, your PPA is ready to receive new uploads. This action will make the system to generate new indexes and activate the file removals in the affected suites.
