Login Credentials (email) change

Asked by WIGGMPk

I have changed my e-mail address a while back since I no longer use the original one supplied by my ISP (have since moved and switched service providers).

How do I go about getting the login user name for my launchpad account to reflect my current e-mail address instead of a non-existant old e-mail?

Go to your profile page (click your name near the upper-right corner of any page, or: https://launchpad.net/~wiggmpk). Click the edit (yellow pencil) icon next to "Email:" (or: https://launchpad.net/~wiggmpk/+editemails -- don't worry, only you can actually access that page). In the box under "Add a new address:", type in the email address you want Launchpad to use, and click Add. Then select that address, and click Set as Contact Address.

My current e-mail address was already set as my contact address. However I didnt notice the "remove" option for my older e-mail address. Which I did, logged out, then logged back in (even though I still had to use the e-mail address I just removed) and then basically had to re-add my current e-mail address. But all is well now.

Thanks for the assistance.

Please note also that, although they are branded to look the same, Launchpad (https://launchpad.net) and the Launchpad Login Service (https://login.launchpad.net) are completely separate services. You must changing your email separately in each system.

The reason for this confusing duality is that the Launchpad Login Service is actually just a skinned version of the Ubuntu Single Sign On service.

I have the same problem, but couldn't resolve.

I only have one contact email (new one) but I still have to use the old email to log-in.
going to the login serice, does not give me an option to change that.. the only think I get is a page to change my password.

to make matters worse, my old password was only 7 digits, and now it is required to use 8 digits/characters.

... I'm at odds here on how to change it all to my generic personal gmail account isntead of business accounts that might change overtime. ...
