Launchpad / Ubuntu Wiki (Password Missmatch?)

Asked by Joel Shea

Keep getting "Sorry, Wrong Password." error whilst logging into Ubuntu Wiki site, using the following URL; https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UserPreferences

Have tried logging in using all of the following; Name, WikiName, and E-mail address, using the _correct_ password, all to no avail.

Tried updating my password via the Launchpad forgotten password link, this did not resolve the issue.

It appears wiki.ubuntu.com is not syncronising with my launchpad password - could this be due to previously changing my WikiName after signing up / logging in?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Joel,

to log in into the ubuntu wiki (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UserPreferences) you should use the same credentials you use to log in into http://launchpad.net.

Which means: your preferred email address and password for launchpad.net.

If you still have trouble logging in, please contact me in #launchpad @ irc.freenode.net. I'm usually there from 12:00 UTC to 22:00 UTC

Thanks,

matsubara

I can successfully log into launchpad.net, however when using the same
credentials to logon to wiki.ubuntu.com - I keep getting incorrect
password error. Which brings me to my initial support request, it
appears my passwords are not being syncronised somehow?

I may be able to contact you there, unless I receive a reply here first.

It'd be good to check whether the "disable this account forever" setting has been checked in the wiki account. This could be the cause of the problems.

After some discussion on #launchpad @ irc.freenode.net it was brought
to my attention that I may have inadvertedly selected "disable account
forever" - could this account be arranged to be re-activated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Joel,

I asked our Moin Admin to re-enable your account. Could you try to login again and see if it works?

Sorry if it caused any trouble.

I'm next idiot who selected "Disable this account forever". Can anyone re-enable my account? Thanks for interest.
