My builds got stuck, can u please reset/stop them?

Asked by snd

My last 2(3) autogen builds got stuck for over 6 hours already, seems the machines are hung up and need to boot again.

Sorry, idk what was goin wrong... especially it is strange because the i386 build for lucid was successfully > https://launchpad.net/~dns/+archive/gnu/+build/2684433

Please stop the builds and please let me know what happened,...

Btw a "stop button" for each build would be just great (and could save resources).

Someone has the previous buildings stopped. Thx.

Hm i tried it again in another ppa > https://launchpad.net/~dns/+archive/test/+build/2716880
Sorry again... hopefully some1 can quickly stop that "build zombie"? *bang

It is the same issue like before but now just with AMD and i386 build was successful > https://launchpad.net/~dns/+archive/test/+build/2716881
(also i did build this version at home without a problem, but i386 too)

I will leave it for now, but i would really like to know what the problem is.

Everything looks fine now to me. We had some issues earlier so perhaps that was to blame and things are fine going forward.

maverick i386 (stucked) amd (stucked)
lucid i386 (OK) amd (stucked)
karmic i386 (OK) amd (OK) lpia (OK)

Sorry, but can you please take a look at it again, and tell me whats wrong there?

there seems to be some issue with the virtualized buildds. see bug #829253.

for now, please could you avoid uploading autogen to your ppa, until the issue is resolved?

also, is it really necessary to run these daily builds for all releases? could you consider to build these only every 2nd or 3rd day for older releases?

The build log seems to indicate that it's getting OOM killed. This could either be a package bug or a Xen bug, but since the package builds ok on non-virtual builders it's possible that it's a Xen bug.

Please do not upload any more autogen builds until we solve this problem.
