Possible license issues with the bzr-eclipse project

Asked by Niels Thykier

Hi

I reported #601582 against bzr-eclipse, because I believed there was an license issue. The project is hosting code [1] on launchpad, which may or may not be affected by this potential license issue (I did not double check).

The bug has been closed as invalid, but I am not entirely convinced by the arguments. Personally I feel [2] applies to the situation, but I would not mind being wrong. That being said, since launchpad may be considered a distributor of the code, I felt you had a right to know so you can double check the (possible non-)issue if needed.

I believe either license fits our requirements, and the conflict is out of scope from our concerns. I'll ask for a review of my reply, but I'm reasonably confident.

I agree with Gary. bzr-eclipse's licence is compatible with our licensing requirements.

We don't have the resources or expertise to become involved in a discussion over what licence is appropriate for Eclipse plugins, so I'm happy to take the project's word on this.

Can you help with this problem?
