how can I add a bug tracker for my PPA?

Asked by Yuv

It must be something completely obvious that escapes me - we have a PPA and we receive bug reports that we'd like to track.

When I go to https://bugs.launchpad.net/~hugin

I see no bugs, but also no possibility to report one nor to configure the bug tracker?

On a related note,

I see related projects and projects at

https://launchpad.net/~hugin/+related-software

and

https://launchpad.net/~hugin/+related-projects

but how can I edit them? specifically, how can I link to related projects and software?

thanks
Yuv

Hi,

Launchpad currently associates bugs with either *projects* or *distributions*. Since a PPA is neither, the current Launchpad bug tracking model does not directly support tracking bugs in PPAs. I would suggest that if you want to make use of bug tracking for a PPA, the most expedient solution would be to register a Launchpad project that corresponds to the PPA.

Regarding your second question, the related projects of a team are the projects in which that team is assigned to an official role - e.g. maintainer.

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately it does not really answer my needs. It points to a limitations in Launchpad. I've filed
https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/803702

not applicable to our case. The (multi-platform) project exist already and the PPA distributes not only the software created by the project itself, but related dependencies as well, and in an optimal world we'd like to segregate the PPA's issues from the project's own issues.

Can you help with this problem?
