Request to create a wsrep project group

Asked by Alex Yurchenko

Codership team would like to create a wsrep project group for the projects that use wsrep API.

Current projects be included in the group:

1. wsrep API ( - API specification itself
2. Galera ( - synchronous multi-master wsrep provider implementation.
3. MySQL patches by Codership ( - patch for MySQL to use wsrep providers.
4. MariaDB port of MySQL wsrep patch (

Soon to be added PostgreSQL-wsrep patch project.

These projects are tightly related and up to now there even was a single release schedule. Also posting all related binaries in one project downloads becomes very cumbersome. Hopefully having a group will help with organizing releases more logically. Also wsrep projects are intended to be used together, so in many cases a group would be a better point to report bugs and ask questions and a logical place for joint documentation (like MySQL/Galera cluster). Another reason to collect them in a group is to educate the public about all projects that are using wsrep API.

Project group details:

wsrep (wsrep-group if that collides with wsrep API project)

Desired group ID:

wsrep API and projects using it

wsrep (stands for Write Set REPlication) is an effort to research and develop a generic pluggable replication API for DBMS-like applications. It aims to provide minimal, yet complete and versatile interface, that would satisfy most if not all replication use cases.
The main project in this group is wsrep API ( which defines the interface between an application and a replication service provider. Other projects either implement libraries that provide wsrep service or applications that utilize the service.

I created the project group for you:
You can add a project to the group by filling out the "Part of" field on the project's "Edit details" page.
