Asked by Kieran Hogg

Hi,

I am the creator (and sole lp user) of the project openTranslate. It's in a useless state and unmaintained, please delete.

Thanks

We generally do not delete projects, especially those with some actual code: someone might run into it in the future, like the ideas it implements, and either continue the project or reuse some of the code.

You should be able to set the project to "inactive" by going to https://launchpad.net/opentranslate/+admin page. That should be the right state for it.

If you indeed insist, we can probably remove it as well, but I'll need to check what exactly our policy is.

Please reopen this question if you really want the project removed from view, or if you can't mark it inactive yourself.

Hi,

Actually Kieran will not be able to use the +admin page, as that is restricted to Launchpad Registry Administrators. Also, setting the project to "inactive" is actually then thing which will cause the project to be completely hidden from view - they are not independent settings.

Kieran:

Generally, once a project has experienced any non-trivial amount of development, the preference is to leave it visible at least as a historical record. However, as it seems that the project has almost completely been interacted with by you alone, hiding it would probably be acceptable, if you're absolutely sure you want that.

Regards,
Max.
